Window Measurement with Automatic Cross-Check

How can measurement errors be prevented on site? This practical example shows how automatic cross-check measurements and digital data transfer create a reliable, end-to-end measurement workflow.

Detect Errors Instantly and Work with Confidence

Accuracy is essential when measuring windows on site. Especially when multiple elements are involved, the risk of measurement errors or incorrect data transfer increases.

The Challenge

Traditional measuring methods often lead to:

  • Manual transcription errors (incorrect values or misassigned measurements)
  • Unclear or disorganized documentation
  • No immediate verification on site
  • Additional site visits and repeat measurements

The Solaflex Solution

Richard Viehweider from vr Elements GmbH in Götzis (Vorarlberg), a partner of Rekord Fenster, gave us an insight into his daily workflow.

For on-site measuring, he uses the Solaflex LX40 Laser Distance Meter and transfers each measurement directly into a preconfigured digital measurement sheet at the touch of a button.

The measurement sheet automatically calculates verification dimensions, allowing any incorrect measurements to be identified immediately while still on site. Photos are also added to each position, creating complete and well-structured project documentation.

Once the measuring process is complete, the finished measurement sheet is exported as a CSV file for production preparation and as a PDF for the installation team, providing clear and organized documentation for on-site installation.

EThe Result

  • Measurement errors are identified immediately on site.
  • No transcription errors thanks to direct digital data capture.
  • Complete documentation with photos for every measured position.
  • Export as CSV for production and PDF for installation.
  • A seamless digital workflow from measuring to installation.

Automatic verification measurements and direct digital data transfer make window measuring more reliable, traceable, and efficient—from the jobsite to final installation.
