How Digital Measurement Works for Stonemasons in Practice
When working with natural stone, quartz composite or ceramics, precise measurements are essential to ensure that every component fits perfectly. However, uneven walls, varying angles, niches and cutouts can quickly make measuring a time-consuming task.
With Solaflex, contours are digitally captured directly on site. The following examples show how digital measurement can be used for typical stonemasonry applications.
Kitchen Worktops and Backsplashes

Precision is particularly important when measuring kitchens. Worktops and backsplashes are often made from materials that are difficult or impossible to adjust on the job site, such as stone or ceramic worktops and ceramic or glass backsplashes. Using the Digital Tape Measure, the worktop and kitchen backsplash can be measured with millimetre precision. Cutouts for sinks and cooktops can be added directly in the Solaflex Measurement App. Templates are available for frequently required elements such as electrical outlets. This makes it quick and easy to create an accurate digital measurement – without the time-consuming process of creating physical templates.

With Solaflex, the actual on-site conditions are captured digitally. Instead of writing measurements down on paper and transferring them again later, a digital drawing including lengths, angles and cutouts is created during the measurement process.
Once completed, the measurement data can be exported as a PDF or DXF file and used for further planning and production.
KITCHEN WORKTOPS
Capture Complex Contours Without a Template
Kitchen worktops often combine several measuring challenges: walls may not be perfectly square, cutouts have to be taken into account, and the material should ideally be prepared to fit precisely before leaving the workshop.
With Solaflex Coordinate Measurement, each contour point is captured using its X and Y coordinates. This makes it easy to digitally reproduce slopes and varying angles.
