Measure a Wall Area in a Staircase

Precisely measure a wall area in a staircase for large-format tiles. Digital planning across multiple levels enables accurate prefabrication and fast, clean installation without on-site cutting.

Large-format installations spanning multiple floors place high demands on measurement. Digital planning provides the accuracy and confidence needed for a reliable fit.

Measuring Large-Format Tiles in a Stairwell – Precise Planning Across Multiple Floors

The wall surface of this stairwell, which is over 8 metres (26 ft) high, was completely clad with large-format porcelain panels. The accurate digital measurement of this three-storey stairwell was completed in approximately 2 hours.

Typical Challenge:

Different floor levels, large-format panels, and complex geometries make measuring prone to errors. Any rework is time-consuming and costly.

The Solaflex Solution:

The layout of the large-format panels (3000 × 500 mm) was planned in advance using the Solaflex App. The completed drawing was exported as a DXF file and sent directly to the fabricator, allowing all panels to be cut before installation. Thanks to this prefabrication process, no cutting was required on-site. This eliminated dust, noise, and the constant switching between cutting and installation, allowing the stairwell wall cladding to be installed quickly and efficiently.

the result:

  • Prefabrication of the tiles before installation
  • No on-site tile cutting required
  • Significantly faster installation
  • Clean and well-organised workflow
